Cheltenham Christmas Market and Ice Rink

November 2021 to January 2022 saw the Christmas Market return to Cheltenham, with the addition of an ice rink this year. Working alongside Visit Cheltenham, Cheltenham BID, and Bakehouse Factory, NR Events delivered an outstanding festive experience for Cheltenham residents as well as visitors from further afield.

The Christmas Light Switch-On took place on the evening of the 20th November. Ella designed a captivating route for the roaming performers to entertain the public whilst the lights were turned on in a scattered manner, in order to limit the risks of Covid in large crowds.

The roaming performers from Bakehouse Factory were a highlight of Cheltenham’s high street and promenade each weekend. Alongside the delicious treats and hand-made gifts that the Christmas Market offered, there was something for everyone to relieve the stresses of Christmas shopping.

The Ice Rink opened on the 18th November and was host to many skaters for more than six weeks over the festive season. It was a huge success considering the threats of restrictions that loomed and offered a unique experience for the public that has not been seen before in Cheltenham.

We are looking forward to the prospect of 2022 being the year that events hopefully return to their full form. The pandemic has opened our eyes to how adaptable our industry can be and the creative solutions we can forge to carry on entertaining. It has been fantastic to work on some in-person events this year such as COP26, Victorious Festival and various Christmas festivities.

We were really pleased to take on the Production again for this year's @british_film_designers_guild Awards at @thelondoner, Leicester Square 🎬

The set up was a huge task, and thanks to @palmbrokers, @universalpixelsvideo, and @peakhire, a breaktaking stage was built to incorporate the sustainability theme of the show 🌱

In the final weeks of the summer, we built, managed, and took down the campsite at Victorious Festival in Portsmouth along with another fantastic crew!

Our highlight was finding a poster of our previous Buble shows from Bath on a heras panel while setting up the site! 😲

(Oh, and we're still daydreaming about Dwayne's cooking 🤤)
